    That sounds tricky. I sooooo wish you could have taken a picture. Did they have strips of woven leather, or were they more "knit" than that?

    Think of a sandal of a fairly sturdy variety - not one with tiny little straps - and then imagine each leather piece wrapped in strips cut from a cable-knit sweater. A brown, acrylic, scratchy-looking sweater.
